September 12, 2022
Dear Â鶹ÊÓƵ Students,
We know that many of you are registered voters in your home states and care deeply about voting in the November elections. To support Â鶹ÊÓƵ students in exercising your right to vote in Fall 2022, Â鶹ÊÓƵ has launched a university-wide initiative, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Votes, that assists students in requesting absentee or mail-in ballots and connecting local students to in-person voting information.
Each state sets its own rules for out-of-state voting. Â鶹ÊÓƵ Votes provides tools and practical support, including:
- State-by-state instructions on ;
- In-person assistance in requesting absentee or mail-in ballots on September 19, 20, and 21 at Absentee Ballot Days @ Â鶹ÊÓƵ, at the front of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Library. We’ll help you navigate the steps in YOUR state, including providing supplies, postage, and document notarization (if your state requires it).
Now is the time to start the process if you haven’t done so already. You must submit a request for an absentee or mail-in ballot in time to receive the ballot, vote, and submit it by your state-authorized deadline. You can ensure your vote counts by attending Absentee Ballot Days @ Â鶹ÊÓƵ to get support requesting your absentee ballots.
We encourage all Â鶹ÊÓƵ students who will not be in their state of residence on Election Day (November 8) to request absentee or mail-in ballots and vote. Visit Â鶹ÊÓƵ Votes for more information, including a sign-up sheet to receive voting reminders and/or get involved.
Sincerely,
Fanta Aw
